Chandigarh, October 29: Punjab’s ongoing industrial investment wave continues to gather pace with the addition of a ₹339-crore project by Germany’s Freudenberg Group, one of several major global firms expanding operations in the state.
According to the government, Punjab has received industrial investment proposals worth ₹1.23 lakh crore since 2022, expected to create nearly 4.7 lakh jobs. The state is now preparing for the 2026 Punjab Investment Summit, which will focus on achieving a ₹5 lakh crore target by the end of the decade.
Freudenberg’s Morinda factories in Rupnagar district are manufacturing high-performance automotive components for domestic and export markets. “Our investment in Punjab demonstrates confidence in its people and infrastructure,” said Dr. Mohsen Sohi, CEO of Freudenberg Group.
Officials said the project reflects the results of policy reforms introduced under the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ framework and the single-window clearance system managed by Invest Punjab. The initiative enables faster approvals, access to industrial land, and improved logistics connectivity.
Other multinational firms have also stepped up investments: De Heus from the Netherlands has announced ₹150 crore in Rajpura, Nestlé from Switzerland ₹2,000 crore in Dera Bassi, and Claas from Germany ₹500 crore in Beas. Collectively, these developments signal growing investor confidence in Punjab’s manufacturing, food processing, and automotive sectors.
