LaSalle, March 5L Nancy Grewal, a 45-year-old YouTuber known for her sharp political commentary, was fatally stabbed Tuesday evening in LaSalle. Officers arrived at the 2400 block of Todd Lane after receiving reports of an assault at approximately 9:30 p.m., where they found the victim suffering from severe trauma.
Despite being rushed to a nearby medical facility for emergency treatment, Grewal was pronounced dead. The incident has drawn significant attention due to Grewal’s public profile, where she frequently asserted her views on international relations and regional Punjab politics.
In her online content, Grewal maintained a stance against Khalistani movements and stated her disapproval of the Canadian government’s handling of certain foreign policy matters. Law enforcement officials noted that they are aware of the victim’s background but maintained that the safety of the general public is not currently at risk.
“Investigators are viewing this as an isolated incident,” the LaSalle Police Service declared in a formal update on Wednesday. The department also stated, “The LaSalle Police Service offers our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ms. Grewal.”
The scene remained under heavy police presence throughout Wednesday as investigators placed evidence markers around a concrete walkway and front entrance of a local home. Search teams further expanded the perimeter to include a wooded section near the Herb Gray Parkway walking trails, approximately one kilometer from the primary scene.
The region recently recorded another homicide on February 18, when a man was found shot in a hospital parking lot. That case led to an arrest on Broderick Road in LaSalle, though authorities have not suggested the two events are linked.
Detectives are currently urging residents with home security cameras to review their recordings from Tuesday night. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the LaSalle Police Service to assist with the ongoing inquiry.
