Chandigarh, Feb 20: The administration led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has finalized the possession of 10.50 acres of land in Jalandhar district for the construction of the Sri Guru Ravidass Bani Adhyayan Centre. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema confirmed on Thursday that the land, situated at villages Faridpur and Naugajja, is now ready for the development of the international research facility.
The Finance Minister noted that the government has already cleared a budget of ₹55 lakh specifically to shift power lines at the site, ensuring that the construction remains on a strict timeline. He affirmed that the project aims to nurture dedicated scholars and spread the message of Guru Ravidass Ji to a global audience.
During the site visit, which included MLA Balkar Singh and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Cheema maintained that the government is committed to honoring the religious and social heritage of the state through concrete action. Representatives of Dera Sachkhand Ballan expressed their gratitude to the government for the time-bound execution of the land transfer.
“This land will now be utilized to create an institution dedicated to the teachings of Guru Ravidass Ji,” Cheema stated. He further declared that the design process is being handled by experts to ensure the center meets world-class standards before the bidding process begins.
In addition to the infrastructure project, the Finance Minister declared that Punjab will host extensive celebrations for the upcoming 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj. He noted that these events would be held at a massive scale to foster communal harmony. The day concluded with the Minister and senior AAP leaders paying obeisance at Dera Sachkhand Ballan.
