Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, Feb 5: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has called upon people from all walks of life to join the 649th Parkash Purb celebrations at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib with religious fervor. The Chief Minister noted on Thursday that the Punjab government has completed all arrangements for the three-day state-level event, which will conclude with the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib on February 6.

The Chief Minister said that Sri Guru Ravidass Ji was a messiah for the underprivileged who taught the world to lead a virtuous life. He mentioned that the Guru’s ‘bani’ is a lighthouse that can help society overcome contemporary challenges and social maladies.

“Sri Guru Ravidass ji laid out the concept of such an ideal society where nobody undergoes suffering of any kind,” Mann said.

He noted that the memorial at Hoshiarpur is equipped with a tourist center, multi-level parking, and a large Sangat Hall to accommodate the thousands of devotees expected to attend. He said the infrastructure is a reflection of the state’s respect for the spiritual ambassador who laid the foundation for egalitarian values.

“I urge the entire sangat to participate in this state-level function with full religious fervour and enthusiasm,” the Chief Minister said.

The administration has planned various educational and cultural initiatives throughout the year to celebrate the Guru’s life. The Chief Minister noted that these efforts are part of a broader mission to sensitize citizens about the philosophy of equality, leading up to an even larger celebration for the 650th anniversary next year.
