Shimla, April 3 — Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri announced today that the Union Government has approved ₹56.26 crore under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) for the development of Mata Chintpurni temple in Una district. Speaking at Tahliwal village after inaugurating a four-storey fire post built for ₹4 crore in the Tahliwal industrial area of the Haroli Assembly segment, he said the funds would promote the state’s religious and spiritual heritage.
“The hill state is known as the abode of deities, and ₹350 crore is already being spent on beautifying Mata Chintpurni temple and improving facilities for devotees,” Agnihotri stated. He added that the state government has also allocated ₹100 crore for infrastructure and amenities at Mata Naina Devi temple.
The Deputy CM said the newly inaugurated fire post, equipped with two firefighting vehicles, would soon be upgraded to a fire substation. “The proposal will be taken up in the next Cabinet meeting. The upgraded facility will include three firefighting vehicles, a duty room, workshop, control room, barracks, dining hall, and covered parking,” he said.
Agnihotri also directed Una SP to identify land for a permanent building for Tahliwal police station. Later, he laid the foundation stone for a 4.25-km link road connecting Sri Gidgida Sahib to Shri Tahli Sahib and the Haroli main road to Shri Baba Bharathari temple, Panjuana, and Baliwal villages. The project, costing ₹4 crore, aims to improve connectivity in the Haroli segment.
Himachal Pradesh Scheduled Caste Commission Chairman Kuldip Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, and SP Rakesh Singh accompanied him.
