One Held, One at Large in Mullanpur Car Snatching

MOHALI, Aug 13 — Five days after a CNG car was robbed at knifepoint from a petrol pump in Mullanpur, police have arrested one suspect while the other remains absconding.

The incident occurred on August 7 when victim Satya stopped to refuel. Two men on a motorcycle allegedly tried to forcibly take his car. When he resisted, they threatened him with a knife, forcing him to surrender the keys before fleeing in the vehicle.

The suspects were identified as Sukhwinder Singh, alias Sukha, of Khizrabad, and Gurinder of Mianpur Changar, Mohali — both with prior cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

“The accused are habitual offenders with a criminal record. Gurinder Singh has been arrested, while Sukhwinder Singh is absconding and efforts are underway to nab him,” said Mullanpur SP Mohit Aggarwal.

Police said the stolen vehicle has been recovered. The duo has been booked under Sections 309(4), 115(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
