Chandigarh, October 15, 2025: Punjab has entered a new phase of agricultural advancement through a collaboration between Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, and Argentina’s Centro Agrotechnico Regional.
According to inputs, the partnership will introduce modern techniques, enhance productivity, and promote sustainable practices tailored to Punjab’s farming conditions.
Argentine experts recently visited Punjab to assess soil quality, climate, and crop patterns, while engaging with PAU scientists and local farmers on improving yields, conserving water, and strengthening soil health. Both sides agreed to begin joint research projects soon to share expertise and develop innovative farming solutions.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann described the partnership as a “historic step” toward giving Punjab’s farmers a global platform. “Our farmers deserve the world’s best technology, fair markets, and respect for their hard work. This collaboration will help make that vision a reality,” he said.
The Mann government has in recent years rolled out several schemes promoting efficient irrigation, solar pumps, and agri-tech tools. Investments in food processing parks and rural infrastructure have created new opportunities for farmers and rural youth.
Officials said the Argentina partnership will further strengthen Punjab’s agricultural research, foster innovation, and encourage eco-friendly, climate-smart farming—paving the way for Punjab to emerge as a global model of sustainable agriculture.
