Patiala, Oct 30: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday reiterated his government’s commitment to preserving Punjab’s cultural and spiritual legacy, as he and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal jointly launched temple renovation works worth ₹75 crore at Patiala’s historic Sri Kali Mata Temple.

Mann said the temple pond will be fully renovated with desilting, waterproofing, and stonework to enhance both beauty and sanctity. “Our aim is to preserve the temple’s heritage while improving facilities for pilgrims,” he said.

He added that during weekends and Navratri, a proper queue management system will ensure smooth movement of devotees. The government also plans to introduce a token-based system for Prasad distribution, similar to the one at Vaishno Devi Temple.

For elderly devotees and women with children, the Sangat Hall will be upgraded into a fully air-conditioned space. Mann also announced plans for a daily langar seva for visitors, along with accommodation facilities and parking for 300 vehicles.

Reiterating his government’s vision, Mann said, “It is our duty to preserve the spiritual and cultural heritage of Punjab so that coming generations remain connected to their glorious past.”
