Amritsar, Feb 15: The Border Security Force (BSF) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) have successfully intercepted a major consignment of narcotics and weapon components during a coordinated operation near the Indo-Pakistan International Border. The joint action, which took place at the Ranian border outpost, resulted in the seizure of over eight kilograms of heroin and the arrest of three suspects.

Following a multi-day surveillance operation, the agencies conducted a series of raids on the night of February 13. During the search, officials recovered 8.654 kg of heroin and 0.630 kg of opium, alongside a slide for a Glock pistol. The three individuals apprehended at the scene have been identified as Beeru Singh and Babak Singh of Sahrsara village, and Karanbeer Singh of Chavinda village.

“Acting on intelligence inputs and after tracking the suspects for the past three to four days, the agencies conducted a series of coordinated raids before achieving the breakthrough,” stated NCB officials. The authorities also seized four mobile phones from the suspects, which are expected to provide critical data regarding their communication channels.

Initial inquiries suggest that the arrested individuals were part of an organized cross-border smuggling network. “Sustained intelligence gathering and close coordination between the two agencies led to the successful interception,” noted an official involved in the case. Interrogations are currently ongoing to trace the broader linkages of the racket and identify additional accomplices involved in the illicit trade.
