JALANDHAR, Feb 27 — The Nakodar City police are investigating a brazen theft where two unidentified youths allegedly used a firearm to seize a motorcycle from two local men last evening. The victims, aged 19 and 25, were at the busy bus stand when they were approached by the suspects who had recently arrived at the terminal.
The police affirmed that the suspects were seen getting off a bus some time prior to the incident. When the victims attempted to resist the snatching, the suspects allegedly fired warning shots into the air before fleeing the scene with the motorcycle. The SHO confirmed that despite the presence of many passengers at the site, the situation was managed without any physical injuries to the public.
“When they tried to snatch the vehicle, they faced resistance, which is when they fired the shots,” the police official declared. He stated that the department is prioritizing the verification of digital evidence to ascertain the identities of those involved.
Legal proceedings have been initiated under the appropriate sections of the BNS. Officials noted that the investigation is focusing on tracing the route taken by the suspects after they exited the bus stand area. While the attackers remain at large, the police asserted that multiple teams are working on the lead provided by the station’s surveillance system.
