CHANDIGARH, March 24: The Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team will hold a public display at Sukhna Lake later this month, with performances set for March 27 and 28. Access to the lakeside viewing area will be restricted to pass holders, who can secure entry via the Chandigarh Tourism mobile application for a 100 fee.
Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav affirmed that all relevant departments, including the municipal corporation and health services, have been briefed on their specific action plans. He declared that the administration is focused on maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and technical arrangements in coordination with air force authorities.
To prevent congestion near the venue, the administration noted that no private vehicles will be permitted near the lake during the event days. Instead, the city will utilize seven shuttle points to transport the 10,000 permitted daily visitors to the site. Yadav stated that timely dissemination of information regarding these entry protocols is a priority for the district.
The health and fire departments have been instructed to ensure medical preparedness and sanitation facilities are adequate for the large crowds. Officials asserted that the air show rehearsals and airspace management will be closely monitored. Visitors are encouraged to cooperate with security personnel and follow the advisory regarding prohibited items to ensure an incident-free experience.
