Sarabha Nagar, March 26: During a street-corner meeting in Chandigarh on March 26, Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora affirmed that Punjab is now the top-performing state in India across multiple sectors, including education and road safety.

Presenting a four-year report card of the Bhagwant Singh Mann administration, the minister declared that the state is witnessing a level of development that was previously “never imagined.”

Arora asserted that the Government of India’s decision to rank Punjab first in ease of doing business and education reflects a historic shift in governance. He stated that the “Rangla Punjab” vision is becoming a reality through systematic reforms that have caught the attention of the entire nation.

According to the minister, these achievements mark the first time the state has secured such prestigious status in these vital categories simultaneously.

Regarding public utilities, the minister noted that the government has successfully maintained a policy of providing 300 units of free electricity to all households. He stated that the efficiency of the power grid has improved to the point where nearly all farmers will receive guaranteed morning power supply during the next sowing season.

Arora declared that the transformation of PSPCL from a loss-making unit to a profitable one is a cornerstone of the administration’s economic success.

The minister also detailed significant healthcare and welfare expansions, noting that Punjab is the inaugural state to offer a ₹10 lakh cashless health cover to all residents. He affirmed that the promised monthly financial aid for women—set at ₹1,000 for general beneficiaries and ₹1,500 for others—is ready for implementation.

Closing his address, Arora maintained that the government’s commitment to infrastructure would soon result in the best and cleanest road network in India.
