Dhaliwal Accuses Bajwa of Insulting Sangrur’s Revolutionary Legacy

AAP MLA warns Congress will be ‘wiped out’ in 2027 following controversial remarks

Chandigarh, April 8: The Aam Aadmi Party has launched a sharp counteroffensive against Pratap Singh Bajwa following his statement labeling Sangrur as “termite-infested.” During a media briefing on Wednesday, MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal stated that the Leader of Opposition has insulted the “Martyrs’ Land” and must be held accountable for his low mentality.

Dhaliwal argued that Sangrur has historically been the epicenter of Punjab’s most significant social and political movements. He noted that even within the Congress party’s own history, the region has produced stalwarts whom Bajwa has indirectly disparaged with his choice of words. The AAP leader affirmed that the people of Punjab are deeply offended by the characterization of a district known for its sacrifice and patriotism as a source of pests.

“Mr. Bajwa belongs to the party that imposed Emergency, carried out Operation Blue Star, and orchestrated the massacre of Sikhs,” Dhaliwal declared. He affirmed that the Congress party’s history of corruption, from coal scams to the recent controversies involving former ministers like Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, proves they are the true destructive force in the state.

The spokesperson asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party is not merely a political organization but a movement born from the revolutionary soil of Sangrur. He maintained that the 2027 elections would see the complete erasure of Congress from its remaining strongholds, including Qadian. Dhaliwal affirmed that the party is confident in crossing the 100-seat mark in the next assembly, as voters have recognized the “politics of loot” practiced by the opposition for decades.
