CHANDIGARH, April 11 — The Punjab Government has announced a series of extensive initiatives to mark the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji, aiming to showcase his spiritual legacy on an international scale. Following a meeting with religious leaders on Saturday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared that the state will facilitate a year of spiritual and social programs dedicated to the “messiah of the poor.”

The finalized sequence of events includes documentary screenings, school-level competitions, and blood donation camps designed to engage the youth with the Guru’s teachings. The Chief Minister asserted that his government is dedicated to building a society where every individual lives with self-respect, mirroring the values of the Ravidassia philosophy. He noted that the upcoming celebrations follow the successful commemoration of the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

“This Parkash Purab is an occasion to rededicate ourselves to creating a society free from discrimination,” the Chief Minister affirmed. He stated that the central event at the Khuralgarh memorial would include a “Sant Samelan” and a conference dedicated to the Guru’s Bani. To mark the 650-year milestone, the government will also organize marathons, cycle rallies, and Shobha Yatras across the state.

The Chief Minister declared that the spiritual and cultural importance of Khuralgarh would be further elevated through the inauguration of new exhibitions and a Katha-Kirtan Darbar. He maintained that the inclusion of environmental drives, such as the massive plantation effort across 650 acres, reflects the Guru’s message of welfare for the entire humanity. Senior leaders and advisors on tourism and cultural affairs have been tasked with ensuring the seamless execution of the year-long roadmap.
