NEW DELHI, APRIL 17 — Following the Enforcement Directorate’s searches at the premises of Sanjeev Arora, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu has raised concerns over the management of state resources and potential overseas dealings. Bittu asserted that the investigation into the Punjab Industries Minister could see further developments, including cooperation from other political figures such as Raghav Chadha.

Bittu stated that land-use violations are a primary concern, alleging that territory on the Ludhiana-Chandigarh route intended for industrial growth was instead utilized for private residential projects. He affirmed that such actions undermine the goal of generating local employment. Additionally, the Union Minister noted that frequent international travel by Arora to Dubai suggests the possibility of financial links outside of India, which he declared should be a subject of the ongoing probe.

The Minister maintained a firm stance on the autonomy of central investigative units. He affirmed that the Enforcement Directorate functions without political interference, stating that the recent actions are part of a routine legal process. Bittu dismissed claims of political motivation, declaring that the focus remains on ensuring transparency and legality in the state’s industrial sectors.

Addressing the potential for new testimony, Bittu stated that he believes officials and political associates familiar with the transactions will eventually share details with investigators. He reaffirmed his position through social media updates, noting that the investigative process is likely to broaden as more information is gathered. While official confirmation on these specific allegations from the ED is still pending, Bittu asserted that the facts would be clarified as the investigation progresses.
