CHANDIGARH, MAY 17 — Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared on Saturday that the state will enforce absolute transparency during the impending Special Intensive Revision process, promising that no eligible voter will be removed from the official rolls.
The administrative directive introduces a monitoring system where political volunteers will remain stationed at every polling booth to oversee the collection and verification of citizen data alongside official census and election personnel.
State officials maintained that the centralized initiative seeks to prevent the polarization of voter lists that critics allege has occurred in other regional jurisdictions. Chief Minister Mann asserted that concerns raised in several states regarding the deletion of genuine votes and the inclusion of fake entries have created anxiety among citizens, making it imperative for the Election Commission to act with utmost responsibility and neutrality. He further stated that constitutional institutions must resolve public objections immediately and fairly to preserve institutional trust.
The scope of the revision follows preliminary reporting indicating that a substantial portion of the state’s voting population has already been structurally mapped. Chief Minister Mann declared that democracy cannot survive if people begin to lose trust in the sanctity of electoral rolls and constitutional institutions responsible for conducting elections. He called upon the public to participate actively in the verification drive to secure their constitutional privileges.
Organizational leads reported that the deployment strategy will cover both urban and rural centers uniformly.
