NEW DELHI, MAY 29 — Medical aspirants looking to claim their examination fees for the cancelled NEET-UG 2026 test have been given until June 22 to submit their preferred banking credentials, the National Testing Agency declared.
The administrative shift comes as the central government prepares for a fresh iteration of the medical entrance test on June 21 under strict monitoring protocols. The initial test, administered on May 3, was officially nullified on May 12 after reports of systemic malpractice prompted an active Central Bureau of Investigation probe.
The testing agency clarified that all prior application fees are being systematically returned to the original applicants, while the upcoming June retest will be completely free of cost for all valid registrants. While a significant majority of the 23 lakh registered candidates have already responded to the directive, a large block of students missed the original four-day processing window that concluded earlier this week.
“The extension was approved specifically to support students who faced technical difficulties or lacked immediate access to their preferred banking documents during the initial week,” a senior testing official noted. “We want to ensure that every single eligible applicant receives their reversal directly without intermediate agency fees.”
The portal requires students to supply comprehensive account numbers and IFSC codes through their secure applicant dashboards. To streamline the verification pipeline and ensure accuracy, the platform now accepts digital copies of cancelled cheques from candidates wishing to validate their institutional banking details.
The national desk confirmed that the data-entry link will remain operational through the evening of June 22, closing precisely at 11:50 p.m. Administrative guidelines indicate that no secondary corrections or modifications will be entertained once an applicant hits the final submission button, as those files will move immediately into active banking channels for direct deposit.
