AMBALA, June 1—Seven fire tenders were mobilized on Monday to battle a large-scale industrial fire that broke out at a mattress factory located in the vicinity of Ambala City. Heavy plumes of dark smoke rose from the Mandour village site, creating a visual marker visible across the region, though officials confirmed the building was safely evacuated with zero injuries.
The composition of the inventory within the factory contributed significantly to the intensity of the emergency. Officials noted that the highly inflammable nature of the mattresses and storage stock caused the flames to spread with extreme speed throughout the main production floor.
The local administration launched an immediate probe into the origin of the accident. DSP Jitender Jindal noted that emergency protocols were successful, declaring that the situation was under control and the perimeter was secured. Energy Minister Anil Vij joined the response teams at the factory site to review the mitigation efforts. Fire department representative Satish affirmed that the prompt arrival of the seven emergency vehicles prevented further structural compromise, while investigators noted that a short circuit is the suspected cause.
