The decoration is the highest civilian and military state award that Slovakia bestows exclusively upon foreign dignitaries, marking the 33rd international honour received by the Prime Minister during his tenure.

The prestigious ceremony took place during the first-ever visit by an Indian prime minister to the central European nation, which forms part of a comprehensive weeklong tour of Europe. Ahead of the investiture, the two governments successfully concluded 11 bilateral agreements spanning critical sectors including digital technology, migration pathways, and defence production.

Officials from the Ministry of External Affairs declared that the high-level visit has effectively reshaped the geopolitical ties between the two countries. Expressing his deep appreciation for the gesture, Prime Minister Modi asserted, “I am deeply honoured to receive this decoration, which I dedicate to the enduring friendship between our two nations.”

The Prime Minister maintained that the accolade reflects the deep-rooted respect and mutual understanding shared by the global community toward India’s growing international presence. He affirmed his gratitude to the leadership and the public of Slovakia for their hospitality and exceptional warmth.

Both leaders declared that the newly established comprehensive partnership will open vibrant avenues for youth and technological exchange. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the high state honour would remain a symbol of unity, encouraging future generations to continuously strengthen the relationship.
