Ambala, July 8 — Budding golf talent Zorawar Singh Chahal has won the IGU North Zone Feeder event at the Kasauli Ex-Servicemen’s Professional Training Academy. The Strawberry Fields High School student demonstrated exceptional poise on the course to claim the prestigious tournament title, marking another significant milestone in his early athletic career.
The victory reinforces a storied family legacy that spans three generations of international and national sports achievements. Zorawar is the grandson of Indian hockey veteran Ajit Singh and the grand-nephew of former national hockey captain Harmik Singh. His father, former India hockey skipper and Olympian Gagan Ajit Singh, currently oversees law enforcement as the SSP Fazilka.
Coaches and family associates declared that the young athlete possesses an innate competitive drive that aligns perfectly with his family’s history. Those monitoring his progress maintained that his natural affinity for sports is paired with an outstanding work ethic unusual for a ten-year-old.
Before his success in Ambala, Zorawar built an impressive competitive resume across several high-profile junior tournaments. He previously earned the runner-up trophy at the IGU Junior North Zone event in Patiala and dominated the US Kids Junior Championships on four separate occasions. His earlier title wins include tournaments hosted by the Chandigarh Golf Club, the SM Golf Club, and the Shubhankar Sharma Junior Golf series.
As the Ferozepur-rooted family celebrates this latest accolade, the young golfer remains focused on his dual life as an elite junior competitor and a fifth-grade student. Local sports analysts asserted that his rapid accumulation of regional titles marks him as one of the most promising young talents in the sport today.
