AMRITSAR, AUGUST 19: The Amritsar Commissionerate Police neutralized three interconnected drug and arms trafficking modules on Thursday, apprehending nine suspects and seizing substantial quantities of narcotics, firearms, and cash.
The law enforcement operation yielded eight illegal pistols, four live rounds, 8.536 kg of heroin, and ₹12.95 lakh in drug-related currency. Disclosing details of the multi-agency drive, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav stated that separate teams executed coordinated raids after tracking the movement of illicit arms and narcotics.
The legislator affirmed that investigating agencies uncovered clear evidence linking the accused to overseas handlers who directed the supply of weapons and heroin into Punjab. The operation has provided investigators with key technical data to disrupt the supply chain servicing local gangs.
Following the arrests, police authorities registered three formal FIRs at Chheharta and Cantonment police stations. Officials maintained that financial auditors and counter-intelligence officers are examining the suspects’ foreign links and monetary transactions to neutralize the remaining arms and drug networks.
