Barnala/Sangrur, Sept 22: State police neutralized a criminal network connected to the firing incident at singer-actor Gulab Sidhu’s village residence in Barnala, arresting nine individuals during a multi-district crackdown. The joint operation involved tracking suspects across Sangrur and Barnala districts, culminating in an encounter where two armed suspects were injured while trying to flee police personnel.
Law enforcement officers asserted that the arrested individuals had conducted reconnaissance on the artist’s residence prior to the shooting. Police teams seized multiple illegal firearms, including Zigana pistols and country-made weapons, alongside unregistered motorcycles used during the commission of the offense.
Officials declared that the suspects were acting under instructions from foreign-based gang leaders attempting to establish local fear. Senior police representatives maintained that law enforcement agencies stand vigilant against extortion threats targeting public figures, reaffirming that all individuals associated with the conspiracy will be brought to justice.
