Lucknow, Oct 9: Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries across Uttar Pradesh will receive two complimentary LPG cylinder refills during the current 2026-27 fiscal year following a decision by the state cabinet.
Announced after a high-level meeting headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday, the state-funded welfare scheme will deliver the free refills in two three-month windows starting October 2026 and January 2027.
State leadership maintained that the continuous roll-out of free refills builds on previous holiday distributions to lower health risks linked to traditional cooking smoke.
To access the benefit, eligible recipients must have bank accounts linked to official biometric verification records.
Government representatives noted that the decision reflects an ongoing commitment to improving domestic convenience and health standards for lower-income families throughout the state.
