Lucknow, Oct 11: Efforts to elevate operational standards within regional agricultural markets have taken center stage as the State Agricultural Produce Market Council rolls out a dedicated cleanliness initiative.

Director Jitendra Pratap Singh maintained that the special drive is designed to optimize convenience and hygiene for agricultural workers and traders alike.

The comprehensive program targets every corner of market premises, requiring sanitation teams to clear clogged drainage systems and eliminate standing water.

Officials asserted that systematic waste removal, coupled with the regular application of disinfectants such as lime powder in vulnerable zones, will maintain optimal sanitary conditions across auction yards and surrounding commercial areas.

Recognizing the surge in crop arrivals during October, the administration emphasized the necessity of streamlined traffic management and congestion-free pathways within the mandis. Rest facilities, office buildings, and public utilities are also undergoing thorough maintenance to ensure adequate water supply and functional sanitation amenities.

Concluding the directives, leadership affirmed that all lingering construction waste and debris from recent infrastructure projects must be promptly cleared from the premises. The ongoing campaign reflects a broader commitment to fostering clean, well-regulated environments across every agricultural market in the region.
