GAYA: Residents of Gaya district will gain access to localized passport processing as the Regional Passport Office in Patna deploys its mobile passport van service to Bodhgaya and Sherghati from September 21 to September 25, 2026. The temporary centers are being established in collaboration with the local district administration to manage the rising demand for travel documentation in the zone.

Operations will commence at the Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee premises for two days, followed by a three-day session at the Sherghati Sub-Divisional Office complex. Regional Passport Officer Swadha Rizvi declared that the initiative builds on prior mobile outreach drives across Bihar, which have provided local processing services to thousands of residents closer to home.

To ensure orderly processing, officials released 110 appointment slots for the Bodhgaya drive and 165 slots for the Sherghati camp via the official portal. Department representatives maintained that applicants must complete their bookings through official digital channels prior to visiting the mobile venue and adhere strictly to their allotted time slots.

Authorities advised citizens to prepare their mandatory documents in advance and leverage digital platforms like DigiLocker for swift verification. Officials asserted that the mobile deployment will streamline local public services and significantly reduce travel time for residents in adjoining sub-divisions.
