Punjab Government Expands Anti-Drug Campaign with Community Outreach and Grassroots Initiatives

by TheReportingTimes

MOHALI (SAS NAGAR) — In a major push to eradicate substance abuse, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann launched the latest phase of the ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ campaign from Chapparchiri, calling on citizens across Punjab to actively participate in the state’s anti-drug movement. The initiative introduces district-wide bike rallies carrying mobile suggestion boxes to gather local feedback and encourage secret reporting of illegal drug trade activities through dedicated state helplines.

Detailing the progress made under the campaign, the Chief Minister cited significant enforcement metrics, expanded capacities at government-run de-addiction centers, free medical treatment, and skill development programs aimed at preventing relapse among recovering individuals. Highlighting broader state welfare and youth engagement programs—such as increased sports allocations, development of rural playgrounds, and merit-based recruitment drives—he emphasized that empowering the youth with genuine economic and athletic opportunities remains central to restoring the state’s prosperity and stability.
