Public Demonstrations Cause Partial Disruptions Across Punjab

Action Committee Calls for Calm Amid Statewide Protest Following Murder Incident

by TheReportingTimes

MANSA, Oct 15: The statewide protest call initiated by the family of slain anti-drug campaigner Parvinder Singh Jhota saw partial impact across various regions of Punjab, with traffic disruptions reported along major routes. Agricultural organizations established road blockades at key intersections, though essential services and emergency vehicles were allowed smooth passage throughout the day.

Family members and organizers asserted that the peaceful agitation aims to emphasize the urgent need for swift action in the matter. Spokespersons from the action committee declared that full cooperation has been extended to law enforcement to maintain public order and prevent any untoward incidents during the course of the demonstration.

While commercial establishments and private institutions observed closures in multiple areas, normal activity continued unaffected in certain southern districts during the initial hours. Authorities maintained regular communication with local representatives as the body of the activist remained at the Civil Hospital in Mansa pending standard procedural consents. Police personnel remained deployed at strategic locations to monitor movement and uphold peace.
