Mansa, Oct 18: Renowned Punjabi singer Babbu Maan arrived at the ongoing dharna in Mansa to offer condolences to the family of slain anti-drug campaigner Parvinder Singh Jhota and express solidarity with protesters demanding justice.
During the visit, Babbu Maan met with the activist’s father, Fauji Bhim Singh, sharing an emotional embrace to offer his support. Addressing those gathered, the singer affirmed that Parvinder Singh’s dedication to raising awareness against the drug menace was a historic contribution, noting that Sri Akal Takht Sahib has recognized him with the status of a martyr. He maintained that determined youth of such caliber are exceedingly rare.
Praising the steadfastness of the elder Singh, Babbu Maan declared that Bapu Bhim Singh embodies the true spirit of a Punjabi as depicted in traditional legends. He contrasted this resilience with online culture, asserting that true Punjabis prioritize the well-being of their communities and state rather than engaging in social media feuds. He concluded that his presence at the site was solely to stand with the family during their hour of grief.
