CHANDIGARH — Representation from Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjeet) called upon Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday to seek a high-level state investigation into recent allegations linked to an FIR against SGPC member Amarjit Singh Chawla.
During the meeting, delegation members including SGPC Executive Committee Member Master Mithu Singh Kaneke and SGPC Member Jaswant Singh Padhaun affirmed the necessity of an independent Special Investigation Team to examine the incident that occurred at Sri Anandpur Sahib. The delegation maintained that the probe needs to trace every link in the matter, from travel logistics and legal proceedings to the administrative management at Bhai Bachittar Singh Niwas and Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib.
The leaders asserted that public confidence in institutional governance must be preserved through a transparent and time-bound examination of the facts. They expressed confidence that the state administration would take appropriate steps to ensure a fair investigation and uphold justice for the public and the community.
