Doda, Oct 18: A search operation was launched on Sunday after a woman jumped into the Chenab River at Barshalla in Thathri area of Doda district and was swept away by the strong current, officials said.
An official said that the incident occurred at Barshalla-Thathri, following which police, along with other rescue teams, reached the spot.
He said a search operation has been launched to trace the woman, while her identity is yet to be established.
Meanwhile, cognisance of the incident has been taken and the search operation is ongoing.
