CHANDIGARH, NOV 6: Following extensive multi-location searches spanning nearly 48 hours, senior AAP Punjab Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Moga MLA Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora held a detailed press briefing to address the recent Enforcement Directorate actions targeting her properties, private hospital, and family residences. Minister Harpal Singh Cheema maintained that the complete absence of financial or documentary recoveries proves the political nature of the raids, which he described as an aggressive attempt by the central administration to create public prejudice and force opposition defections prior to upcoming electoral contests.
Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora detailed the scope of the operation, confirming that agency officials subjected her family to exhaustive questioning regarding property papers, personal documents, and hospital administration records before departing empty-handed. She stated that while political offers including cabinet portfolios were put forward during the raid to encourage a change in political alignment, she rejected all such inducements outright. Dr. Arora asserted that her primary commitment remains with the public mandate and the party leadership, declaring that the current administration’s historical inclusion of 11 women MLAs in the state assembly underscores a permanent shift toward ordinary citizens participating in governance despite systemic intimidation attempts.
