Amritsar, March 24 — Punjab Counter Intelligence arrested four drug peddlers near Narayangarh Government Hospital in Amritsar’s Chheharta area, seizing four kilograms of heroin and busting a narco-terror module.

Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said on Sunday that the accused were identified as Navjot Singh alias Sahil and Sukhwinder Singh, both residents of Tarn Taran Road in Amritsar, Gurpreet Singh of Sheron village, Tarn Taran, and Aniket from Krishna Mandir, Narayangarh, Amritsar.

The arrests followed an intelligence-based operation, and a case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar.

“Our aim is to root out organised crime and maintain peace and brotherhood in Punjab. Our team is fully committed in this direction,” DGP Yadav said.

Police have launched a broader investigation to trace the entire network linked to the smugglers, with officials hinting at possible further revelations.
