Bulldozer Action in Barnala as Police Targets Drug Trade

by TheReportingTimes

BARNALA, April 5 — Continuing its crackdown under the ‘War on Drugs’ campaign, Punjab Police, in coordination with the Nagar Panchayat, demolished the building of an alleged drug smuggler in Barnala on Saturday.

According to police officials, the structure belonged to Mohini Singh, against whom over 10 FIRs, including cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, have been registered. Authorities stated the building was constructed on illegal land and was unoccupied at the time of demolition.

“The action was carried out as part of our ongoing drive against the drug trade. Those involved must abandon this path or be ready to face tough legal action,” said SSP Barnala.

To maintain law and order during the demolition, police were deployed in the area.

This is not the first such action in the district. On March 10, police said they had demolished the houses of two women allegedly involved in drug trafficking. A total of 16 NDPS cases had been registered against them.

Officials said the crackdown will continue across the state against those involved in drug smuggling.
