NEW DELHI, August 25 — Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal will address a second townhall meeting in Miramar on Tuesday to register growing public dissatisfaction with E20-blended fuel. The assembly is set for 3 PM at the Vivanta Banquet Hall, where attendees are slated to detail operational issues caused by the fuel mixture.
“On one hand, sugar is becoming more expensive, while on the other, E20 is damaging people’s vehicles,” declared Arvind Kejriwal. He affirmed that the central government enacted the ethanol mandate without properly calculating the long-term impact on vehicle durability or basic commodity supply chains.
The AAP chief maintained that diverting 25 lakh tonnes of sugarcane to ethanol production triggered a sharp increase in sugar prices, which rose by Rs 25 per kg in roughly 30 days. He asserted that importing agricultural commodities to cover domestic shortfalls undermines the stated goal of conserving foreign exchange through reduced crude oil purchases.
Ahead of the Miramar townhall, the party opened a national helpline on WhatsApp at 7669803441 for vehicle owners to submit testimony regarding mechanical failures and reduced fuel efficiency.
“Only when all of us come together and fight collectively will these people be forced to listen,” affirmed the AAP leader, urging citizens and media representatives to attend the Goa townhall and demand a re-evaluation of current fuel policies.
