Manish Sisodia outlines mission-mode strategy for drug-free Punjab; calls for zero tolerance

by TheReportingTimes

Chandigarh, March 21:AAP Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia has instructed party officials to ensure that every village in the state becomes a drug-free zone. Speaking in Amritsar on Saturday, Sisodia affirmed that the “Yudh Nashean Virudh” initiative is a long-term battle for the state’s survival. He stated that the administration, police, and public are working together with unprecedented integrity to dismantle drug networks that were previously shielded by political interests.

Sisodia declared that the legacy of Punjab’s martyrs and gurus should serve as an inspiration for this fight. He maintained that if leaders cannot stand up against the drug mafia, their role in politics is meaningless. He affirmed that the party expects total dedication from its representatives, stating that an MLA should not be able to sleep if even a single person in their area is falling victim to substance abuse.

Addressing the political climate, the former Delhi Deputy CM noted that attempts to brand the party leadership as corrupt have failed in the courts. He asserted that his own experience with investigations proved that honesty eventually prevails. He stated that the party will not back down from any fight, whether against political targeting or the drug trade, and urged workers to remain steadfast in their mission.

The campaign strategy includes a week of intensive block-level reporting starting March 24. Sisodia stated that Village Development Committees (VDCs) will be tasked with providing accurate ground reports on the prevalence of drugs. He affirmed that the government would provide full support to honest officers and block in-charges who take risks to protect their communities from the drug menace.

He further noted that the state is shifting toward a high-growth trajectory by addressing such social evils head-on. Sisodia concluded by stating that he expects a renewed resolve from the entire team, maintaining that the goal is to transform Punjab into a global model of a drug-free society through collective and unwavering determination.
