AAP’s Rajinder Gupta Files Nomination for Rajya Sabha Bypoll

by TheReportingTimes

Chandigarh, October 11 — Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Rajinder Gupta on Friday filed his nomination papers for the upcoming Rajya Sabha bypoll scheduled for October 24.

The vacancy arose after AAP MP Sanjeev Arora resigned from the Upper House earlier this year to contest and win the Ludhiana (West) Assembly seat in June.

Gupta was accompanied by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, AAP state chief Aman Arora, Industry Minister Sanjeev Arora, and Sangrur MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer while submitting his papers.

With Gupta’s nomination, four candidates have now filed their papers for the bypoll. The election is expected to be a formality, as AAP holds a comfortable majority in the Punjab Assembly.
