Amritsar, April 6: In a significant crackdown on cross-border smuggling and terror networks, Amritsar Rural Police arrested German Singh, a resident of the region, and recovered illegal arms and fake Indian currency from his possession.
According to police, Singh was working with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The recovery includes a Glock 9mm pistol, a .30 caliber pistol, three magazines, and counterfeit currency amounting to Rs 2,15,500.
Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said, “Punjab Police is committed to eliminating terrorist modules and protecting public safety. This arrest marks a major step in our continued efforts against cross-border threats.”
A case has been registered against the accused under multiple sections, and an investigation is underway. Police officials said Singh will soon be produced in court and taken on remand for further questioning.
