Amritsar, Feb 23: The Amritsar Vikas Manch (AVM) has officially recognized veteran leader Tarlochan Singh with the “Guru da Sachiar Sikh” award for his contributions to the community and the nation. Singh, who has served as a Member of Parliament and Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities, received the honor during a special gathering on Saturday.

During the event, speakers reflected on Singh’s long-standing involvement in social and political spheres. Principal Dr. Inderjit Singh Gogoani asserted that Singh has remained a dedicated representative of Sikh ideals since his early days in the Sikh Students Federation.

“Singh has always embodied Sikh ideals in his life and conduct,” Dr. Gogoani declared while addressing the audience. He maintained that the veteran leader’s career is a primary example of how faith and public duty can be successfully integrated.

The organizers affirmed that the award signifies a “True Sikh of the Guru,” a title chosen to reflect Singh’s reputation for sincerity and service. They stated that his work on the National Commission for Minorities was particularly significant in providing a voice to marginalized groups.

Members of the Manch declared that Singh’s life story continues to inspire the younger generation to remain connected to their roots while striving for excellence in their professional endeavors. They asserted that his legacy is defined by a commitment to truth and the welfare of all.
