AMRITSAR, May 26  — Seeking to reverse the impact of narcotics on regional communities, popular performer Yo Yo Honey Singh met senior political leader Tarun Chugh to coordinate a structured anti-drug initiative across Punjab.

The collaboration focuses on leveraging cultural influence to counter addiction patterns among young people. Chugh noted that the spread of illicit substances represents a critical challenge for the territory, making it essential to involve prominent cultural figures who can directly communicate with younger generations.

“The situation in Punjab is getting worse, especially because of the drugs,” Honey Singh stated, adding that collaborative community action is required to protect affected households. “Families are being destroyed, and the youth are being destroyed.”

Chugh asserted that Punjab, traditionally celebrated for its prosperity, requires an expansive public push to overcome the challenges posed by substance abuse. He noted that the artist has committed to using his platform to promote healthy lifestyles and support institutional rehabilitation campaigns.

“I have requested Honey Singh to use his songs and words to motivate the youth of Punjab to give up drugs,” Chugh maintained. “He has promised me that we will save Punjab.”

The organizers stated that future campaign events will focus on promoting heritage, local traditions, and creative pursuits. Chugh affirmed that the administration aims to establish comprehensive support networks to guide recovery efforts and restore long-term social stability across the state.
