Chandigarh, April 30: Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema today handed over appointment letters to 11 officers who have successfully passed the Subordinate Accounts Services (SAS) examination.
According to reports,tThese officers will serve as Section Officers representing the Finance Department in various government offices across the state.
Speaking at the ceremony held at the Punjab Civil Secretariat, Cheema mentioned the government’s commitment to transparency and sound financial management.
“The Punjab Government is fully committed to ensuring transparent and robust financial governance,” he said.
“These newly appointed Section Officers will play a crucial role in the smooth implementation of welfare schemes and will help promote efficiency and accountability at every level.”
Cheema stressed the importance of the officers’ roles in strengthening the financial framework of the state.
“They will assist in comprehensive monitoring of government expenditure, enhancing transparency, preventing financial leakage, and closely monitoring receipts,” he stated.
“This will ultimately result in better service delivery to employees, pensioners, and the general public.”
The Finance Minister congratulated the officers and encouraged them to uphold the values of integrity and dedication in their new roles.
