Sharchi (Kullu), May 30 —As part of the Himachal Pradesh government’s Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar initiative, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited the remote village of Sharchi in Banjar constituency, Kullu district, where he spent the night at the residence of retired Subedar Anoop Ram.

During his stay, the chief minister engaged with villagers of all age groups, listening to their everyday concerns. Responding directly, he issued immediate instructions to district officials for the resolution of key issues raised during the interactions.

“It brings me great joy to be among you,” Sukhu told the gathering. “Since the formation of this government, I have made it a priority to visit remote areas personally, understand the challenges people face, and resolve them effectively.”

Sharchi, nestled amid mountains and forests, is the last village in the Banjar region. The CM said similar outreach visits have been undertaken in Dodra Kwar, Kupvi, and Pangi under the same program.

The chief minister assured residents that budgetary allocations would be made to meet their developmental needs. He directed the Public Works Department to widen and upgrade the Nagladi–Sharchi road, along with the construction of proper drainage and installation of paver blocks where needed to ensure durable upkeep.

In a boost to local women’s empowerment, Sukhu announced a grant of ₹1 lakh each to five women’s self-help groups from Sharchi gram panchayat.

He also briefed villagers on the state’s ongoing initiatives, including special Revenue Lok Adalats at tehsil and sub-tehsil levels aimed at fast-tracking long-pending land and revenue disputes.

“My cabinet colleagues are also visiting different parts of the state to take governance directly to the people,” the CM added, reiterating the government’s commitment to accessible and accountable administration.
