NEW DELHI, OCT 1: Airlines and commercial establishments face higher energy input costs this month as state oil firms implemented routine price updates based on international benchmark movements and currency exchange variations. Under the revised pricing structure, aviation turbine fuel reached Rs 137 per litre for domestic flights, up from the previous rate of Rs 121 per litre. Commercial LPG cylinders of 19 kg saw a rate increase of Rs 62.50.
The jet fuel price update follows cumulative increases over recent months, including a Rs 6.28 per litre rise in September and a Rs 5 per litre adjustment in August. Because aviation fuel represents nearly 40 per cent of an airline’s running expenses, shifts in fuel costs remain a critical operational factor for domestic air carriers.
Commercial cooking gas rates experienced their second consecutive monthly adjustment following a Rs 9.50 revision in September. These changes follow noticeable relief during the summer months when prices eased from June highs of Rs 3,113.50 per cylinder.
Prices for domestic household LPG cylinders remain unaffected at Rs 942 per 14.2-kg unit. Petrol and diesel prices also maintain their current levels, remaining unchanged since May adjustments. Fuel rates across regions continue to reflect local state taxation and VAT variances.
