JALANDHAR, July 20: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared that maintaining strong connections to cultural roots ensures long-term stability and success for the state. Attending the annual fair at the Darbar of Dera Almast Bapu Lal Badshah Ji, the Chief Minister maintained that trees with deep roots withstand any storm, drawing a parallel to Punjab’s enduring traditions of social unity and communal peace. He stated that the government remains fully dedicated to serving all sections of society with integrity.
Addressing the large gathering in Jalandhar district, the Chief Minister affirmed that his government has elevated the respect accorded to local artists and cultural icons, moving away from past practices. He stated that the trust reposed in his leadership by the public is a sacred responsibility earned through hard work, adding that he will preserve this trust through transparent governance. He also noted that the upcoming 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj will be celebrated collectively with great devotion across the state.
Detailing key welfare measures, Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that economic empowerment programs are reaching households efficiently. The government has rolled out direct fund transfers under the Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojna, providing monthly financial aid of 1,000 rupees to women, with increased provision for Scheduled Caste beneficiaries. He affirmed that these initiatives, along with free pilgrimage travel under the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Yojana, reflect pro-people decision-making designed to place Punjab on a sustainable development path.
The Chief Minister concluded his address by thanking the mothers, elders, and youth who gathered at the sacred place. He paid respects at the Darbar, seeking blessings for state-wide harmony, development, and wellbeing. Prominent personalities including Manish Sisodia and local elected officials were present during the ceremony.
