Dalvir Goldy Returns to Congress in Presence of Bhupesh Baghel

by TheReportingTimes

Chandigarh, April 12: Former MLA Dalvir Singh Goldy rejoined the Congress on Saturday in the presence of senior party leader and Punjab in-charge Bhupesh Baghel. The move was confirmed by Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, who posted on X welcoming Goldy back to the party.

“Wholeheartedly welcome younger brother @GoldyDS_Dhuri ji to the party fold…,” Warring wrote, noting the presence of Baghel and Congress Legislature Party leader Partap Singh Bajwa during the formal rejoining.

Goldy had quit the Congress in May last year after being denied a ticket for the Sangrur Lok Sabha seat. He briefly joined the Aam Aadmi Party but parted ways within months. A former MLA from Dhuri, Goldy unsuccessfully contested the 2022 Assembly polls against AAP’s Bhagwant Mann and later lost the Sangrur Lok Sabha bypoll.

Baghel is currently on a two-day visit to Punjab, holding discussions with party leaders as Congress prepares for upcoming electoral challenges.

Meanwhile, Partap Bajwa also reacted to Sukhbir Singh Badal’s return as SAD president and Goldy’s homecoming, terming both developments as significant shifts in Punjab’s evolving political landscape.
