Deepak Bali denounces BJP’s ‘anti-democratic’ tactics

AAP General Secretary demands Rajya Sabha defectors prove credibility through elections

by TheReportingTimes

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 26 — The Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab leadership has challenged defecting Rajya Sabha MPs to resign their posts and face the public. General Secretary Deepak Bali stated on Saturday that the decision of certain members to join the Bharatiya Janata Party is a direct conspiracy against democracy and the specific trust placed in them by the AAP leadership.

Bali affirmed that the prestigious appointments were intended to give a voice to Punjab’s industrial and agricultural sectors at the national level. He declared that by switching sides, the MPs have turned their backs on the very leadership—Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal—that elevated them to the Rajya Sabha. He stated that the honorable course of action would be for these individuals to resign and contest an election from any constituency in the state.

The General Secretary maintained that the BJP is utilizing malicious tactics to undermine the AAP, yet he asserted that the party remains strong and committed to its public service mission. He mentioned that the people of Punjab are observant and will not welcome back those who have fled the political battlefield out of fear or opportunism.

In his closing remarks, Bali asserted that the current administration in Punjab continues to work for the welfare of the common man despite these distractions. He stated that the betrayal of trust by these members will be remembered by the voters and that the BJP must end its practice of destabilizing state governments through such maneuvers.
