Anandpur Sahib, November 25, 2025: The 350th martyrdom anniversary programmes at Anandpur Sahib witnessed powerful scenes of reverence on Monday as two extraordinary symbols of Sikh devotion became key attractions for the sangat.

Among them was Baba Avtar Singh, who travelled from Odisha wearing a 95-kg dastar layered over several hours. Crowds flocked to him as he moved through the venue. He said he wanted to “remind people of Guru Tegh Bahadur’s courage and sacrifice” and viewed the effort as seva rooted in faith.

Another striking presence was Mahant Baba Darshan Dass, who arrived with what he described as a 100-year-old traditional nagara said to have accompanied major Sikh gatherings for decades. As he performed nagara seva at the venue, he said, “This occasion belongs to the Guru and to those who protect his legacy.”

Organisers said the devotional elements added a deeper emotional appeal to the commemorations, strengthening the cultural character of the anniversary gatherings across the holy city.
