CHANDIGARH/SONEPAT, May 23— Professor Dr. Devinder Singh has been appointed the new vice-chancellor of Dr. BR Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), with his tenure expected to begin on May 26, official sources confirmed Friday.
The appointment was ordered by Bandaru Dattatraya, Governor and Chancellor of DBRANLU, following the end of Dr. Archna Mishra’s term as vice-chancellor on March 9. Since then, former DGP and Vice Chancellor Ashok Kumar has held additional charge of the post.
According to the official order, Dr. Singh’s tenure will span three years or continue until he reaches the age of 68, whichever comes first, effective from the date he assumes office.
“It is a National Law University, and to establish the university at the top position among the list would be my priority,” Dr. Singh said after his appointment.
With over 25 years of teaching experience, Dr. Devinder Singh brings a strong academic background to the role. He previously chaired the Law Department at Panjab University, served as Dean of the Faculty of Laws there, and was a member of the university’s governing body. He also held the position of Dean at the School of Law, Maharaja Agrasen University, Baddi.
