Kotkapura, March 29: An elderly woman died on the spot, and her daughter and son were seriously injured after a speeding bus rammed their motorcycle near Kotkapura.
The deceased, identified as Gurmail Kaur, was crushed under the rear tire of the bus, according to reports.
According to the police, Gurmail Kaur was heading to the hospital with her son, Tarsem Singh, and daughter when the accident occurred.
The bus, moving at high speed, struck their bike, throwing them onto the road. The injured were rushed to the hospital.
ASI Balkar Singh from City Kotkapura police station said the bus driver has been taken into custody, and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
An investigation is underway.
