Raipur Rani, Panchkula, July 3 — Four men have been arrested in connection with the violent attack and robbery of a factory owner that occurred in April, police said on Thursday. The main accused, identified as Goldy, remains absconding.
The arrests were made by the detective staff of Raipur Rani police, who had been investigating the case since April 1, when 35-year-old Manish, a resident of Manak Tabra village, was ambushed on his way to his factory in Panchkula.
According to the FIR, a group of men in a car intercepted Manish’s vehicle and launched a brutal assault. “The attackers used iron rods to smash his car windows and then struck him repeatedly with rods and scythes, causing serious injuries to his arm,” said a police official. The assailants also looted ₹2 lakh in cash from the victim before fleeing the scene.
Following the complaint, police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and began tracking the suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Veerpal Singh of Khedi village, Gulfam alias Gonni of Tabar village, Abhishek of Bagwali village, and Qasim Ali of Samalheri village — all residents of the Raipur Rani area.
DCP (Crime) Amit Dahiya confirmed the arrests and said the four men were currently in two-day police remand. “Goldy, the prime accused, has a history of serious criminal offences. A manhunt is underway to nab him,” Dahiya said.
Preliminary investigations suggest that personal rivalry may have been the motive behind the attack. Police added that the arrested men also have prior criminal records and are being interrogated for further leads.
