Shimla, Nov 29: Himachal Pradesh is likely to receive light snowfall on December 4 and 5 as a western disturbance approaches the region, the State Meteorological Department said.
“The state will stay dry till December 3,” a Met department spokesperson said, adding that higher hills may record “light rain and snowfall on December 4.” The plains and lower hills are expected to remain unaffected.
The department said a second spell of light precipitation is possible on December 5 over isolated pockets of the high and middle hills. “Conditions will turn dry statewide after that,” the spokesperson said.
Temperatures are set to dip further, with minimum readings forecast to fall by 2°C to 5°C. Maximum temperatures may also slide by up to 3°C.
Most parts of the state saw clear skies on Friday. Night temperatures ranged widely — from –7°C in Tabo to 12.7°C in Nahan. Shimla and Dharamsala stood at 7°C while Manali recorded 1.9°C. Solan dipped to 3.5°C, Mandi to 4.6°C, and Bhuntar to 1°C.
